Armite’s Molybdenum Disulfide Petrolatum is manufactured to conform to the requirements of military specification MIL-PRF-83483E. This compound contains molybdenum disulfide, which at higher temperature conditions (1000°F and above) may induce hot corrosion of fastener or contiguous materials. Accordingly, its use at higher temperatures should be avoided.
Armite’s MOLY-BLUE (MIL-PRF-83483 Revision E) is a military specification for anti-seize compounds that are used in aerospace, aviation, and other industrial and advanced manufacturing industries. This revision of the specification is specifically designed for use in aerospace applications and provides detailed performance requirements for anti-seize compounds used in this industry.
Applications for MIL-PRF-83483 Revision E anti-seize compounds include:
- Engine Assembly: Anti-seize compounds are used in the assembly of aircraft engines to prevent corrosion and seizure of threaded fasteners and other mechanical components. This helps to ensure the reliability and longevity of the engine and reduces the risk of unexpected failure.
- Equipment disassembly & Reassembly: Armite’s MOLY-Blue can be applied to threaded fasteners, bolts, nuts, etc. to make the disassembly of equipment easier, particularly in high-temperature and high-pressure applications, such as boilers, engines, and other mechanical systems, by preventing seizing and galling of threaded fasteners. Armite’s MOLY-Blue can be used to facilitate the reassembly of equipment, such as boilers, engines, and other mechanical systems.
- Landing Gear: Anti-seize compounds are used in the assembly and maintenance of aircraft landing gear to prevent corrosion and seizure of threaded fasteners and other components. This helps to ensure that the landing gear operates smoothly and reliably.
- Fuel Systems: Anti-seize compounds are used in the assembly and maintenance of aircraft fuel systems to prevent corrosion and seizure of threaded fasteners and other components. This helps to ensure that the fuel system operates correctly and that there is no risk of fuel leaks or other malfunctions.
- Hydraulic Systems: Anti-seize compounds are used in the assembly and maintenance of aircraft hydraulic systems to prevent corrosion and seizure of threaded fasteners and other components. This helps to ensure that the hydraulic system operates correctly and that there is no risk of leaks or other malfunctions.
- Avionics Systems: Anti-seize compounds are used in the assembly and maintenance of aircraft avionics systems to prevent corrosion and seizure of threaded fasteners and other components. This helps to ensure that the avionics system operates correctly and that there is no risk of failures or malfunctions.
